2010 Senate Bill 572: Propose state budget for 2011

Motion by Rep. Steven Brunk R- on May 7, 2010
To require the Legislature in future years to pass tax increases only with the approval of 2/3 of the House and of the Senate; also, to limit state spending increases to the growth rate of Kansas' population and inflation, to allow for spending in excess of this limit if approved by 2/3 of the House and Senate, to impose a state revenue increase limit that's also pegged to population plus inflation, to provide for a state budget stabilization fund, and to prohibit the state from imposing unfunded mandates upon local governments.
The motion failed 42 to 75 in the House on May 7, 2010.
